Temporary workers accommodation facility
$20+ million. Spent locally.
That's what the Tarong West temporary accommodation facility means for South Burnett.
The Tarong West temporary workers accommodation facility is one of the biggest customers South Burnett will see during construction — an estimated $20+ million injected into local businesses, on a site that generates income for Council and leaves a lasting asset for the region.
The camp is proposed on Council-owned land at the Council's request. It will house the construction workforce close to the job, keeping local motels, hotels and B&Bs free for the tourists and travellers the region's visitor economy depends on. When construction is complete, the site will be fully connected to water and sewerage — ready for future community or economic use.
