Project Overview
Tarong West Wind Farm is located at Ironpot within the South Burnett Regional Council, on the lands of the Auburn Hawkwood People and the Wakka Wakka People.
Tarong West Wind Farm’s location was chosen for good wind speeds, proximity to the Queensland transmission network, accessibility and our ability to achieve the project goals with minimal environmental and community impacts.
The site spans approximately 17,500ha of predominantly cleared, undulating farm land used predominately for grazing. The project will have minimal impact to farming, using less than 5% of the total land area.
