Building Local Connections at Our Tarong West Wind Farm Meet and Greet

We were pleased to welcome more than 60 local business representatives to the Tarong West Wind Farm Project Meet and Greet, held in partnership with the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) at the KCCI Business Hub in Kingaroy on Tuesday 19 May.

The event was designed to provide local businesses with the opportunity to meet the Tarong West Wind Farm project team and key delivery partners, including Vestas, MPK and CPP, and get further information related to the project firsthand from the parties involved. Throughout the evening, there was strong engagement and plenty of positive conversations about the opportunities the project can create in the communities local to the project and for the greater South Burnett region.

At RES, we are committed to maximising local participation and ensuring the benefits of the project are shared with the communities that host it. Tarong West Wind Farm has targets of 30% local workforce employment during construction, 10% local trade contracts, and 80% local trade workforce participation during the operations and maintenance phase.

Creating opportunities for local businesses to connect directly with project decision-makers is an important part of achieving these goals. The positive response to the event highlighted the positive interest from local businesses in the community and their strength and capability of the these businesses to get involved in the project construction and operation. We look forward to transforming these conversations into involvement on the project as we progress towards the start of construction.

Thank you to KCCI and everyone who attended and contributed to a successful evening.
